ABOUT US

Our Second-Generation, Locally Owned Family-Run Business is Over 44 Years Old

In that time, we’re proud to have built the enviable reputation of being one of the finest solar system providers in the Valley. Founded by Richard and Jean Harmon in 1975, the company has grown exponentially over the years and is currently under the leadership of Harmon-King and her husband Dan King.

Since taking over Harmon Solar from Julie’s parents, Dan and Julie have grown Harmon by more than 3,400% in the last 13 years.

OUR TEAM

Julie King, CEO

Having mom and dad owning the company while she grew up gave Julie a job as a teenager and the opportunity to decide she would never work in construction again. Or so she thought. While Julie has many accomplishments under her belt as a person and as owner of the company; the most admirable is how she managed to make us a Certified Woman Owned Business. This is not easy! When Julie isn't in the office running the business; she is still running the business... but she is also a proud mom and grandma who loves to spend time with her family and friends. She teaches fitness classes and loves to work out. Time with her husband, Dan, is best spent finding unique wineries and microbreweries or cooking.

"I value truth and ownership with everything. It is important that people feel a sense of ownership in the things they choose to do."

Dan King, COO

Dan brings over two decades of experience in business sales to Harmon. Throughout the years he has achieved many things as an individual and as the chief operations officer. Included in this list you'll find his success at Enterprise RAC in their commercial fleet leasing division for twelve years, purchasing the company (Harmon Electric, Inc.) in 2005 with spouse Julie King he focused his entrepreneurial skills to rapidly grow the Electrical business while starting up the Solar Division in 2008. Although Dan is best known as the COO, he is also known to hold the title of dad and grandpa. His time outside of work is best spent with family and friends; creating memorable experiences with them. A majority of these experiences centered on his cooking and everyone enjoying it. When he isn't in the kitchen, you'll find Dan on a trail or up a mountain enjoying another hobby of his; hiking.

"I live my life both personally and professionally by the golden rule. Respect is a timeless principle and it is my personal mission to get everyone to understand that."

Ralph Romano

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Ralph is over commercial and residential solar sales and marketing; with over 25 years of experience in executive management. Having over two decades of experience in his field, his list of achievements is not short. Several of these achievements include overseeing three western region centers in the automotive warranty division at GE for nine years, earning a designation of a Six Sigma Black Belt, and assisting numerous companies in developing sales and operations throughout the United States. Ralph may hold the VP title for sales and marketing, but he is also known as a father, mentor, and lover of the Seattle Seahawks. Outside of the office he enjoys overseeing a youth baseball travel club organization; helping young men not only become better ball players but shaping them into better people and preparing them for the future. When he isn't watching his son compete in baseball at the high school level, you will find Ralph playing his drums to all genres of music.

"Integrity is a core principle that I have carried with me throughout my professional and personal life. I hold myself and others to a consistent moral and ethical level of standards. The company's core values, integrity and quality, align with mine. This is extremely critical to me."

Brian Lechliter

Residential Solar Director of Operations

With over twenty years of experience in Operations both nationally and internationally Brian has worked with all kinds of utilities and solar companies. This includes managing teams in the United States as well as India, Turkey, Panama, Argentina, Columbia, and Jordan. All around, team building is the goal. Bringing disparate groups together to complete common goals is very rewarding to him. Outside of work you will find Brian reading a good book or enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it’s the arts or nature- he is there.

"I value honesty and integrity above all things. I believe these traits to be the precursor to my success in all areas. Both professionally, and personally."

Ryan King

Solar Design Manager

Growing up with family in the business, Ryan is no stranger to the industry. While his experience with this profession stems countless years his solar experience is just shy of five years. Out of his many achievements, the two that stand out most are his accomplishments of becoming a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional as well as a NABCEP Certified PV Technical Sales Professional. This accreditation is the most recognized certification the solar industry has to offer. When he is not racking his brain with calculations and measurements, you’ll find Ryan working out, spending time with his family, enjoying football and all of its glory, or engaging in his true passion- cooking.

"I like to lead by example and show everyone who I work with or for the same respect inside and outside the office. I value hard work, dedication, and trust."

Michael Toomb

Director of Commercial Operations

With nearly ten years of solar energy experience, Michael oversees the development, design, procurement, and construction of commercial electrical and solar projects. During these years in this line of work he has carried out many achievements. A few of them being his development and deployment of more than 23 MWp of solar projects in both non-profit and commercial sectors, two consecutive years of directing the installation of 8 MW of commercial solar projects in Phoenix, Arizona, and being included in the ranking of #1 Commercial Solar Installer in both 2011 and 2012. While he is the Director of Commercial Solar Operations, he is also a husband, father, and friend. If he isn’t on a job site or managing projects; you can find him spending time with his family and friends, traveling, cooking, or participating in outdoor activities.

"I believe that being direct, honest, and ethical produces the best long-term results. I’ve found that in the long-run, a reputation of quality work, integrity, and good decisions will bear more fruit and have a lasting impact."
