PRIMARY FUNCTION:

An Electrical Worker 4 is responsible for work that consists of installation, alterations, additions and /or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Possess blueprint knowledge and understand layout from field sketches.

Complete panel terminations.

Size conduit and boxes.

Be familiar with controls.

Assist with transformer terminations.

Assist and/or complete motor terminations.

Assist in underground rough-in materials.

Assist in setting light

Possess skills of Electrical Workers 1, 2 and 3 to assist and oversee lower level Electrical Workers.
Assist Journeyman in decision making and layout.

  • Be able to positively identify colors
  • Understanding of reading and drawing prints and schematics of same
  • Able to correctly use all small power hand tools, saws and knockout punches
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Practice and comprehend safe work procedures as outlined in the company safety policies
  • Operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders and jack hammers
  • High School graduate, holder of GED or equivalent training
  • Wear personal protective equipment in compliance with company safety policies
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta –Johns)
  • Able to understand and follow directions
  • Employee to have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as work weighs approximately 30 lbs)
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks in a safe manner
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instructions
  • Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered)
  • Company policy prohibits Electrical Workers from working on energized circuits or equipment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work 40 hours per week or more if required

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head

Constantly moving on your feet

Climb ladders (all type)

Completing overhead work for full days assignments

Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the construction site, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use

Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned task
