As you may be aware, there has been a lot of talk over the past several months regarding proposed changes to APS’s solar net metering policies in Arizona. Harmon Solar’s COO, Dan King, provides an update about the status of the developments.
In July, APS filed a net metering proposal with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). Last month, the ACC Staff, released their Recommended Opinion and Order regarding the proposed changes. Based upon their recommendations, the solar industry is optimistic there will be no major changes to the existing net metering policies.
APS’s net metering proposal was supposed to be discussed by the commissioners during the most recent open meeting held October 15-16. However, the net metering proposal was pulled from the October agenda, and we are expecting that it will be heard during the November open meeting scheduled for November 13-14.
Until the ACC makes a final ruling on APS’s proposed net metering changes, Arizona solar policies will remain the same. What that means for you is there has never been a better time to lease or purchase a solar system, making a wise financial investment in your home! Become one of the many Arizonan’s who have locked in their energy rates for the long-term and are saving money every month on their energy bill.
We will continue to keep you apprised of any future net metering updates.
